A warm place for the community in challenging conditions
Aims of WHCRG
As a resilience hub we will endeavour to:
To open the hall as a 'safe refuge' providing heat, light and phone
charging facilities for West/mur community and anyone visiting.
To maintain contact with the Angus Council Resilience Officer throughout
any emergency.
Use the hall as a receiving/distribution centre for equipment/supplies
during an emergency.
Provide a localised hub for use by the emergency services/utility
companies in time of emergency.
Address the wellbeing of those in the community who are most vulnerable.
The defibrillator home.
Opening the resilience hub
WHCRG will try to open Westmuir Hall as a Resilience Hub under the following
circumstances:
There is a specific request made to open the hub by Angus Council Resilience
Team.
There is a specific request to open the hub by one or more of the emergency
services (police, fire, ambulance).
There is a specific request to open the hub by one or more of the utility
companies (gas, water, electricity).
WHCRG committee become aware of a serious situation that will affect the
community but there has been no specific request made by any of the above to
open the Resilience Hub.
When dealing with an incident or emergency WHCRG volunteers must not take
unacceptable risks that place themselves or others in danger.
