Inside Westmuir Hall

Aims of WHCRG as a resilience hub

We will endeavour to:
  1. To open the hall as a 'safe refuge' providing heat, light and phone charging facilities for West/mur community and anyone visiting.
  2. To maintain contact with the Angus Council Resilience Officer throughout any emergency.
  3. Use the hall as a receiving/distribution centre for equipment/supplies during an emergency.
  4. Provide a localised hub for use by the emergency services/utility companies in time of emergency.
  5. Address the wellbeing of those in the community who are most vulnerable.

Opening the resilience hub

WHCRG will try to open Westmuir Hall as a Resilience Hub under the following circumstances:
  1. There is a specific request made to open the hub by Angus Council Resilience Team.
  2. There is a specific request to open the hub by one or more of the emergency services (police, fire, ambulance).
  3. There is a specific request to open the hub by one or more of the utility companies (gas, water, electricity).
  4. WHCRG committee become aware of a serious situation that will affect the community but there has been no specific request made by any of the above to open the Resilience Hub.
When dealing with an incident or emergency WHCRG volunteers must not take unacceptable risks that place themselves or others in danger.
